Okx and Manchester City FC Join Forces to Propel Blockchain Growth

Okx and Manchester City Football Club took their partnership to new heights on Friday, June 30. The blockchain company, previously a sponsor of the club's training kit, has now become the sleeve sponsor for both the men's and women's teams. This expanded collaboration aims to not only promote the football club but also generate interest and drive growth in the broader blockchain industry, according to the chief marketing officer of the company.

Okx Expands Partnership with Champions League Winners

In recent years, we've witnessed numerous crypto companies teaming up with sports brands on exciting ventures. Notable examples include Crypto.com partnering with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and Binance joining forces with football teams like FC Shakhtar, Lazio from Italy, and Porto from Portugal.

So, what does Okx hope to achieve through this partnership? According to Haider Rafique, the company's chief marketing officer, the deal holds significance beyond mere exposure and growth. He emphasized that this collaboration is a means to unite their workforce and inspire the wider blockchain community.

“Typically, when you do these deals, the perception is that they are designed to boost exposure and growth. For us, it was a way to bring employees together and get the team excited. So there is a quantitative success, but also a qualitative success,” Rafique stated at the launch event on Friday.

Two years ago, Okx was primarily recognized in Asia, but thanks to Manchester City's global success over the years, they have gained visibility on a worldwide stage.

Rafique highlighted, “Two years ago, we were a brand recognized in Asia, but not in the Western world, so with the success of Manchester City over the years, we have become visible on a global stage. So, the amplification this partnership brings is not just Okx, but the entire industry.”

Collaboration Aims to Boost Blockchain Industry Visibility and Engage Fans

While Okx benefits from increased recognition, Manchester City aims to digitize its fan base and expand its digital assets. With approximately 600 million global fans, CEO Ferran Soriano revealed that only a small percentage reside in the United Kingdom. Through this partnership, the football club envisions giving more fans access to engage with the team and its players.

Manchester City's recent triumphant season, securing victories in the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup, has elevated their status in the sport. Soriano expressed his belief that Okx's commitment to success aligns perfectly with the ethos at Manchester City.

The future holds promise for more sports partnerships to emerge, bringing together the worlds of sports and blockchain technology.
